WHO AM I?

My name is Nicky De Westelinck, a dedicated Modern Workplace Consultant at Wortell Belgium, where I specialize in optimizing Microsoft Intune within the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. With a passion for leveraging technology to create efficient and secure work environments, I strive to help organizations unlock their full potential.
Born in 1982, a year that brought us iconic movies like E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, Blade Runner, and The Thing, and unforgettable music hits like “Eye of the Tiger” by Survivor and the album “Thriller” by the late Michael Jackson.
MY EXPERIENCE
My journey in IT began in 2009 when I pursued an IT course and earned my credentials as a Network Administrator. After an internship at ECX ICT Business Solutions, I was offered a contract, which marked the official launch of my IT career. I started as a Helpdesk Engineer, progressed to a Junior System Engineer, and eventually became a System Engineer.
In recent years, my interest has gravitated towards everything related to Microsoft 365, which has become my primary focus. Seeking to propel my career further, I joined Wortell Belgium (formerly Synergics) in February 2020 as a Microsoft 365 Support Engineer. My enthusiasm and dedication led to my transition to the Project team in June 2021 as a Modern Workplace Consultant.
My core passion lies in Microsoft Endpoint Manager (Microsoft Intune), but my expertise extends to Teams Administration, Exchange Online migrations, and Microsoft 365 Administration.
Since August 2021, I have also been a Microsoft Certified Trainer, a role I aspire to engage in more actively in the future.
Conducting training sessions for customers and colleagues brings me immense satisfaction, as it allows me to share my knowledge and assist others on their journey to gaining new insights and skills.
COMMUNITIES
Workplace Ninja User Group Belgium – Co-Founder
As a co-founder of the Workplace Ninja User Group Belgium, which we proudly launched in December 2024, I am thrilled to be part of an initiative that brings together IT professionals and enthusiasts. Our user group is dedicated to fostering a community where knowledge-sharing and networking are at the forefront.
In my experience, the most rewarding aspects of working in IT are the opportunities to share expertise and connect with like-minded individuals. Providing knowledge and networking with peers not only enhances our collective understanding but also makes the journey in IT incredibly fulfilling and fun.
Belgian MCT Community (LinkedIn Group) – Co-Founder
In addition to being actively involved with the Workplace Ninja User Group Belgium, I’ve also partnered with a fellow Microsoft Certified Trainer to establish the Belgian MCT Community. Our goal is to bring MCTs in Belgium together to share experiences, knowledge, tips, and tricks. For now, we’ve initiated our community with a LinkedIn Group, but we’re enthusiastic about expanding in the future to become a truly active and engaged community.
SPEAKING
I had the honor of making my first stage appearance at the MCT Summit 2025 in Manchester. During this event, I participated in a panel discussion on “What Makes a Good Trainer? Exploring the Essential Skills Beyond Knowledge” alongside Microsoft MVPs Anouck Fierens, Sasha Kranjac, and Marijn Somers. We engaged in an open discussion, sharing our insights and thoughts on the essential skills that make a successful trainer.
WHAT WILL THE FUTURE BRING?
Looking ahead, my goal is to step onto the speakers’ stage more frequently, sharing my knowledge and passion with a wider audience. I aim to further dedicate myself to the community by enhancing knowledge sharing and expanding my network. As I gain more experience in the areas I love, I aspire to continually grow and improve. Who knows, perhaps one day I will join the esteemed ranks of the Microsoft MVP family.
But the most important thing is….
Love What You Do!
Feel free to connect on BlueSky or LinkedIn and get in touch with me! I wonβt bite!
