What’s New for Android Enterprise in Microsoft Intune 2601: January Highlights

A new month always brings a new Microsoft Intune service release. The Microsoft Intune January (2601) service release introduces a range of enhancements for Android Enterprise device management, making it easier than ever for IT administrators to fine-tune policies, streamline enrollment workflows, and enhance device security. From expanded settings in the Android Enterprise settings catalog to new app management controls, this update empowers organizations to manage Android devices with greater precision and flexibility.

In this post, we’ll explore the most impactful Android-specific changes in the Microsoft Intune January 2026 (2601) service release and how they can benefit your Microsoft Intune environment.

Before you explore the new additions in Microsoft Intune for your Android Devices, verify that your tenant is on the new 2601 service release.

Go to Tenant Administration | Tenant Status and in the Tenant details tab, check if Service release is on 2601.

New supported OEMConfig apps for Android Enterprise

If you are enrolling dedicated or managed Android Enterprise devices, OEMConfig plays a big role (stay tuned for a more detailed blog post on Managed Home Screen and OEMConfig). With the 2601 Service realease the following OEMConfig apps are now available in Microsoft Intune:

  • FCNT – Senior Care | com.fcnt.mobile_phone.seniorcareconfig
  • FCNT – Schema | com.fcnt.mobile_phone.schematest
  • Sonim | com.sonim.oemappconfig

Filter by Android management mode in the settings catalog

When creating a Settings Catalog-based policy, you can now filter settings by Enrollment Profile Type.

Go to the Microsoft Intune admin center | Devices | Android | Configuration and create a new Policy. Just choose +Add filter and your Profile type.

Assignment Filters options

New assignment filters options for Android Enterprise managed apps, Device Management Type. The following options are now available:

  • Corporate-owned with work profile
  • Corporate-owned fully managed
  • Corporate-owned dedicated devices without Entra ID Shared mode

Go to the Microsoft Intune admin center | Devices | Android | Assignment filters and check the new options while creating a new assignment filter for managed apps.
